Writing
This week you will be working on two activities — TED Talks and student self-reflections. The TED Talk will be major focus for the next 3 weeks.
• Home Learning Week 9 (June 1 – June 5) — Finding your topic
• Home Learning Week 10 (June 8 – June 12) — Preparing you presentation
• Home Learning Week 11 (June 15 – June 19) — Video of your TED Talk
Student Self Reflections: There are two files for the student self-reflections. The first file is an editable PDF. You can type right into the document if you wish. I find it a bit awkward but it does work. If you would prefer, you can also complete this activity in any word processing app (Word, google docs, etc.) and then submit work. The second file is an example of how the activity could be be completed. A copy of this activity will be attached to you report card to be shared with your parents and another copy will be put into you permanent student file. So do a good job!

Numeracy
The work in Math this week has been kept to a minimum to give you more time to focus your efforts on the TED Talk you are finishing. The first activity is called What Does 2000 Calories Look Like? The second activity is a Magic Square activity. With any extra time, or if you just want to do some extra practice, work on IXL Math. I would suggest that you work on sections R, U and V.
